HKS, a global architecture and engineering company that has been behind some of the world's biggest stadium builds, uses the Unreal Engine to create a visually-stunning technique called ray-traced stadium design.

'There really aren't any other building types that combine the scale and complexity quite like sports and entertainment projects,' said Bryan Trubey, principal and executive vice president of HKS.

A video released by Unreal shows how projects such as the Minnesota Vikings' US Bank Stadium can have its components stripped away to reveal the fine details of the structure, as well as the inclusion of tens of thousands of animated fans. Magicsoft playout 5 2 10 138 4.

Design A Virtual Stadium

'On an intense design process, every two weeks we're getting in front of the client team, so we take up all of the current condition for every Revit model. Mechanical, structural, architectural interiors, we import all of those into the Engine,' said Owen Coffee, principal, HKS.
